Mississauga’s Square One shopping centre is attracting more and more upscale shops.  But that’s probably no wonder, since it is the largest shopping centre in Ontario (the second largest in all of Canada), and a destination of 24 million customers each year!

The latest luxury retailer to join the other 360 retailing residents at Square One is David Yurman, a U.S.-based luxury jewellery brand.  In mid-December, Yurman opened a concession inside Square One’s Holt Renfrew department store.  It’s a shop-within-a-shop model, measuring about 820 feet.

David Yurman was founded by two artists, David and Sybil Yurman, in New York in 1980.  Their jewellery is known for its artistic inspiration, craftsmanship and unconventional yet elegant designs.  Think, wearable art, and relaxed American jewelry and timepieces.

Designs include pieces for both women and men and range from earrings to necklaces to gift items such as pens, as well as a line of timepieces and engagement rings.

Price-wise, the pieces tend to be on the higher end, but you can find rings and pendants in the $125-$300 range.  A cable classic bracelet with 14k gold and/or diamonds has a price tag in the $500-$900 range.  The shop carries both women’s and men’s collections, as well as the David Yurman Wedding collection.

It might be worth taking a peek since—believe it or not—Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and the traditional wedding month of June will be here before you know it (at least we hope!).

One more feature of interest.  Even though the David Yurman store within the Holt Renfrew’s department store is presented as a concession model, it apparently does include a private viewing room—just in case you want to see those pieces with a 4 or 5-digit price tag attached!
