On Saturday November 18th you are cordially invited to the Benares Historic House to partake in a Baking Blitz!
It might be freezing cold out but it isn’t quite the Christmas season yet. However, the good folk over at Benares Historic House want to kick-off your holiday cheer with a baking bonanza on a Saturday afternoon.
From 1 pm to 4 pm on the 18th of November, Benares House is hosting a Christmas Baking Blitz, in which you will bake cookies the old fashioned way: with classic hand-made ingredients, on an authentic historic woodstove. These cookies taste delightful and even better knowing that you made them yourself.
Reservations for the event are required and can be done so by calling 905-615-4860 ext 2110. Partaking will cost $31.50 +tax for adults, children’s admission fees are not mentioned but can be enquired about upon calling. Bear-in-mind that the fee also gets access to the home itself, which normally costs $6 for adults.
Benares Historic House is a beautiful home that was built in the 1800’s, then restored in 1995 to evoke daily life during The Great War. The house is located in Clarkson, specifically at 1507 Clarkson Road North, and well worth a visit even if it isn’t for the Baking Blitz. Though let’s be honest, cookies make everything better.
So come on out on Saturday the 18th and begin the countdown to Christmas with some old-style cooking! Bon appetit!
