We’re always talking about food and Mississauga. The two go hand in hand. However, we often overlook a couple of locations in the city that offer just as much quality cuisine as everywhere else.
Today we’re going to take a quick look at some restaurants Clarkson has to offer, across all spectrums, from fine dining, to breakfast grub. We were shocked to find out just how fantastic Clarkson’s food offerings is, and it’s suddenly shot to the top of the list for food in Mississauga! Sit back and prepare to be surprised and hungry!

Solstice Restaurant & Wine Bar opened it’s doors to Clarkson Village in 2005. Operated by the Angheloni Brothers (Vince, Andrew & Chef John Paul). They have dedicated themselves to offering their guests a modern take on Italian Classics.
A fan favorite is the veal invlotini, tender veal wrapped around tiger shrimp and served with polenta and rapini.
With rotating specials using seasonal ingredients and over 16 wines by the glass. Solstice always has something fresh on the menu.
Solstice also boasts a private dining room that holds up to 90 guests.

Mango Rain is Clarkson’s answer for authentic Indian and Thai cuisine and you’ll be hard pressed to find better in the city!
Mango Rain has a big menu that covers appetisers and soups, to Thai or Indian specific dishes, with vegan and gluten-free options throughout. I recommend either the yellow curry with chicken or lamb vindaloo, if you can handle the heat!

Michael’s Back Door is rather aptly named as is it located at the back entrance of a hidden building in Clarkson. You can park at a back alley and find your way inside to be surprised by how up-scale this resto is.
Michael’s isn’t a very big restaurant but it is a great location for a date, so be prepared to book a reservation in advance. It’s a fancy little Italian restaurant that has been around since the 80’s, and offers fantastic food and great wine. I recommend the Vitello Sorrentina, which is veal topped with eggplant, capicollo, boccoini cheese, and basil garlic tomato sauce.

So far so fancy, but what about breakfast I hear you asking? Well Daylight Grill has you covered.
Tucked away inside the plaza on Southdown Road, Daylight Grill could easily be missed but shouldn’t be slept on. Daylight Grill doesn’t do anything special or unique, it just does breakfast really dang well. Whether it’s just a simple three eggs breakfast you want, or the full-on steak and eggs, there’s somehting here to start your day right.

Mickey’s is a pizza lovers dream and it’s been right under your nose this entire time.
Located in the Clarkson plaza, hard to miss with a large green dragon above the name, Mickey’s Pizza offers what they call the Killer King of deep dish. This place truly puts all other deep dish to shame, as you can see in the picture above. The dough is made in-house and the meat is actually cooked-to-order, which is truly rare. Mickey’s might be the very best pizza in the city, maybe even Canada!

That’s the mission statement of Kravingz, a restaurant created by best friends, that has been serving Clarkson for over 2 years now. Krazingz is a restaurant with a ton of personality and an incredible sense of style and location. The menu is really fun and diverse but I recommend the fantastic chicken and waffles, as seen above.

Clarkson Fish & Chips is located right along the main street in Clarkson and does exactly what it says on the tin.
If you’re after some great British-style fish & chips, you could do a lot worse than this Clarkson location. Clarkson Fish & Chips offers fantastic halibut and chips for only $11.95, as well as sides of mushrooms, mushy peas, onion rings, coleslaw, and even meat pie!

Located in the quaint and historic Clarkson Village, Clarkson Mediterranean Bistro is a hidden gem in Mississauga.
This Mediterranean Bistro is fine dining personified and yet surprisingly affordable. They offer a great seafood menu, as well as fantastic beef, and a heck of a party menu. The Bistro is also well-known for it’s incredible selection of fine wine. Throw in a classy atmosphere and pleasant service, and you have a perfect date night!
