1059 Dundas Street West has just become the home to a new casual food spot.

Kantene is “where you can find a variety of freshly made comfort foods made with whole ingredients that will satisfy any palate.” That mantra is reflected in the interior design of the restaurant, which screams casual and relaxing. Brilliant white brick walls are off-shot by sky blue steel chairs, ala Ikea, and blue counters with light oak table-tops.

By definition, comfort food won’t wow you. It’s not food that is going to blow your mind and cost $100+. Instead, it’s food you know and love, cooked and served to perfection. That means you can expect an array of classic dishes like burgers, wraps, pizza’s, sandwiches, and hand-cut fries. That being said, Kantene does put a little spin on the dishes to make sure you aren’t bored.

In regards to the burgers, you can choose from six different options, including Classic, Surf & Turf, Italian, Mushroom, Blue, and Persian Lamb. However there’s also a secret menu item, the Kantene Special Burger, so make sure you enquire about it! Furthermore, all the burgers are made with AAA beef and are never frozen!

Then you can choose from nine different variations of wraps and sandwiches, six pizza’s, and ten sides & salads. Once then clock hits 5 PM however, Kantene also operates a dinner buffet, where you can grab Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Lamb Kebab, Whole Fried Red Snapper, Meatballs Penne, Jerk Chicken Leg, and Braised Veal Shank. So feel free to come to Kantene after 5 PM to grab an impressive dinner option, or you can order and get it to go!

Kantene brings incredible comfort food to Dundas Street West. It’s truly a revelation for a casual dining experience in that area, so if you live nearby or are passing by, make sure to stop at Kantene and try it out for yourself.
