New management has come to Malton’s classic restaurant on Derry Road. Maurizio Dacunto, restaurateur for more than 14 years has opened up a second location of his popular, Brampton based, Vesuvio’s Italian restaurant in the former steakhouse.

Vesuvio’s menu features a range of Italian handmade stone pizzas and homemade pastas as well as other main dishes like the popular, mouth-watering veal. The authentic dishes are created from recipes handed down by Maurizio’s very own grandmother.

Tens of thousands have been spent on renovations to bring this restaurant back to life without removing the charm and character of the stunning stained glass windows and hand carved wood details.  The restaurant bar received a substantial investment with new tables, leather chairs, TV screens and flooring.

Plans to keep the bar happening involve live entertainment every Friday night beginning this December, with additional music filling up many Saturday nights in the calendar as well.

In the new year, look for Vesuvio’s to host special wine tasting & paring events once a month.  These events will include a set menu of items specially pared with select wines from regions across Italy.

Vesuvio’s is equipped to handle both small or large group events.  Smaller, private rooms are perfect for business lunches or anniversary dinners and the main area can handle bookings of up to 120 people.
