The Summer Concert Series returns to Mississauga this very week, with the first show happening on Friday, July 7th in Streetsville.
The music series is amongst the public’s favourite during the summer months in Mississauga, and we’re thrilled to see it return for another year. The first act is jazz artist, Cat Beranardi:
Cat Bernardi is a jazz vocalist, composer, band leader and arranger. She performs a wide array of jazz standards from the American song book, as well as her own original music.
[…] Cat Bernardi studied Jazz Vocal Music at both York University and Humber College, where she had the opportunity to train under accomplished musicians such as Jane Fair, Maria Farinha, Sacha Williamson and Michael Donovan. Through Toronto Jazz Workshops, she has also had the opportunity to train with jazz legend Barry Harris.
It was not long before she began composing her own music, arranging her favourite standards and playing with several ensembles around the city including the Toronto Jazz Chorus, York University Jazz Choir, and her own group–the Cat Bernardi Quartet.
If classy jazz music with a beautiful voice is your thing, then you won’t want to miss Cat Bernardi in Streetsville next Friday. Or, if you just want a leisurely day with some free entertainment, then this will also be right up your alley.
The Summer Concert Series isn’t just a one day event though, it takes place throughout July and August, with different acts every single week. That also includes Port Credit, where the first event in the series takes place on Sunday, July 7th, so you can attend both!
For the next nine weeks you can expect a showcase of great live music in Streetsville. And it all begins with Cat Bernardi at 7 PM in the village square on Friday the 5th of July. See you there!
