Believe it or not ladies and gents, Valentine’s Day is here again. If you’re the woman looking for some fresh and exciting idea’s for this year’s event, we have you covered. If you’re the guy needing to come up with something, you have our condolences, and we also have you covered.
Jokes aside, people tend to make a big brouhaha out of Valentine’s Day every year, when it’s really not that hard or complicated to get right. The key is to not wait until the last minute to reserve things, and also listen to what your partner actually wants to do. Hardly rocket science.
Today we want to give you a guide on how to have the perfect Valentine’s Day in Port Credit.
Take It Slow
First things first, why just have a nice meal and go straight back home? Valentine’s Day is one of the few times a year when both parties are ready and able to indulge in a night of romance, so you should make the most of it.
That’s why we suggest starting the night by parking your car at the parking lot at the end of Mississauga Road, right by J.C. Saddington Park. That way you can take a nice stroll through the park as you make your way past the Lighthouse, over the bridge, and into Port Credit.
Sure, it’s pretty darn cold outside right now, but that’s what your coat is for, and the best thing about the snow is; the park will be a winter wonderland of solace. So take a nice, slow stroll through J.C. Saddington Park and talk. Yeah talk, and better yet, listen! People talk all the time but how many people actually listen? Well we suggest you take some much-needed time to relax and just talk to each other. It sounds silly but it will be a great precursor to the rest of your evening.
Dine, Dine, My Darling
Eating seems to be the focal point of Valentine’s Day, for better or worse. Everyone flocks to restaurants throughout the city for an expensive meal, and if this is something you plan on doing, you need to book that meal very soon!
Port Credit is not without it’s plethora of incredible restaurants, so it’s really your choice as to which one you’d like to go to for the meal. The top choices include Solstice Restaurant & Wine Bar, Posta Italbar Cucina, Breakwater Restaurant, Ombretta Cucina + Vino, Chelsea, and Raw Aura (for our vegan readers).
Whichever of these fantastic establishments you choose to reserve your spot, you will undoubtedly have a great meal and a very relaxing evening. Where do you go from there however?
Ending The Night Right
What you do from there is really up to you. If you’re the kind of couple who’d like to have a drink then we recommend these three establishments, based on your personal preference; Spice Lounge for a quiet, romantic drink in a cozy, low-lit area; the Crooked Cue for a casual drink with music, and maybe a game of pool; and The Brogue Inn for a relaxed drink with good atmosphere and good beer.
If you’d rather get out of the restaurant setting, you can then go back out onto the street and wander around Port Credit. You can slowly walk back to your car via the waterfront and breathe in the crisp night air.
Again, the key to a great Valentine’s Day isn’t how much money you spend, or how many activities you do, it’s about engaging one and other and being in the moment. As a wise man once said, happiness is not a destination, it’s the journey.
And if none of that sounds particularly interesting to you, feel free to stay at home for some Netflix and chill. Regardless of how you spend your evening, have a great Valentine’s Day for us here at YourSauga!
