Ladies and gentlemen, Canada Day is less than a week away and we can’t wait to celebrate another year in Port Credit.
That’s right, the annual Paint The Town Red Festival returns to Port Credit on July 1st. That means the usual rigmarole of live music, entertainment, food, and, of course, the parade will be taking place throughout the town and we’re here to provide the rundown.
The Hazel McCallion Canada Day Parade will kick-off the days events at 11AM, beginning at Port Street East near Breakwater Restaurant, running along Lakeshore Road, turning on Seneca Avenue, and ending on Queen Street East. The parade is always a fun showcase of old cars, floats, and more, which attracts people in the thousands.
Where the parade nears its end you will find La Villa Bakery, where Hazel McCallion will be to cut the iconic (and gigantic) Canada Day cake. From there there will be live music throughout the streets, a BBQ at the Port Credit Legion, and live entertainment at the Waterside Inn.
As for Memorial Park in Port Credit, that’s where you’ll be treated to an entire day of live music from amazing local and foreign artists, including a Tom Petty tribute band. There will also be dancing, vendors, and a kids zone for the scamps to play.
Of course, the day would not be complete without the amazing fireworks display at 10 PM. It’s a fantastic closer to one of our favourite days of the year. We’re expecting hot and sweaty weather, so be sure to wear appropriate clothes, drink lots of fluids, and come really early if you’re looking for a great parking space. A full rundown of everything that’s happening can be found below.
With Canada Day less than a week away we’re going to have lots more content on things to do and places to be, so keep your eyes peeled for more!
