Visit the Carassauga Canada Pavilion and experience Canada, like never before. Now in its 34th year, Mississauga’s Festival of Cultures, invites visitors to travel the world without leaving the city. This year, visitors can stamp their passports at 32 pavilions across the city representing over 70 countries.  The Canada Pavilion is hosted by the Streetsville Legion – 101 Church St, Streetsville. Passports are available at the Legion in advance or at the door!

The festivities will begin Saturday May 25th at 12pm with the Streetsville Pipes and Drums, a ribbon cutting ceremony, the Singing of O Canada and a VIP reception.

The Pavilion starts out with a bang but that is only the beginning; as we have added more interactive, entertaining and educational components this year! Upstairs visit our Superman Exhibit to learn more about his creator, have your picture taken in the Superman photo booth or take part in the creating the superpower wall. Also upstairs, a children’s storyteller & craft area, the Video Viewing area, Canadian Television through the ages exhibit, The Maple bush Industry exhibit, and more.

Don’t forget to also explore our beautiful outdoor space for lots more to see and do. Stop by the sugar shack to learn how maple syrup is made, or take a stroll over to the Indigenous area and learn about the artifacts displayed. While you are out there make sure you don’t miss The Great Canadian Lumberjack Show, fun for the whole family. On Sunday, make sure you drop by to cheer on the players in the Celebrity Shinny Game officiated by the one and only Hurricane Hazel McCallion. It’s a truly Canadian tradition and always tons of fun!

While you are outside you may want to try a Bloody Caesar from our Mott’s Caesar bar, or a plate of yummy poutine from one of the many Canadian food vendors. Either way you will want to find yourself a seat and get ready for an incredible line-up of continuous “all Canadian” entertainment on the Imperial Oil Main Stage. This year we are excited to welcome for the first time The Price Bros. Saturday at 7:30pm.  This Canadian duo will perform an incredible tribute to the Tragically Hip, you just can’t miss. Then stick around for east-coast favorites Screeched Inn @ 9:30pm. They will have your toes tappin’ and have you up dancing before you know it…and they may even get you to kiss the cod!

We are also thrilled to announce our Sunday line-up. Don’t miss Whiskey Jack performing “The Stories and Songs of Stompin Tom” This talented band was the original Stompin’Tom Connors band and we are honoured that they will be sharing their experience and talent with us. Lastly, 15 year old emerging country artist Emma Wright will have your jaw dropping and have you dancing in your seat, as she hits notes you didn’t know existed. Emma is someone to watch out for, as she is talented beyond her years! We are very excited to have the opportunity to host such a talented young woman, with undoubtedly a very long successful career ahead.

Festival producer Karen Cecy of Rock-It productions adds “Along with the fabulous entertainment and interesting exhibits there are some great prizes to be won!
