Mississauga is a diverse place and as a result it’s also a foodie’s heaven!

We’ve looked at the best burger joints, pizza joints, vegetarian restaurants, and even the best bars, in Mississauga and specific locations, and today we want to look at the very best Greek food in all of ‘Sauga.

Mississauga has a lot of proud Greek residents and as a results it also has a ton of fantastic Greek restaurants – and some not so fantastic. So we’ve boiled it down to a quick list that offers a variety of restaurants that should fit whatever taste and mood you’re after.

Colossus Greek Taverna

(280 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5G 1H2)

Colossus Greek Taverna is a very popular destination for Greek food just outside of Port Credit.

Colossus is known for its authentic Greek cuisine, fitting soundtrack, and atmospheric setting. Furthermore, Colossus sets itself apart from other Greek joints in Mississauga because it also offers authentic Greek beer and wine!

Souvlaki Hut

(51 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5G 1C8)

There’s more than one Souvlaki Hut in Mississauga but the one located in the heart of Port Credit is the one with the best reviews and it’s easy to see why.

Not only is the service friendly and the food great – for both take-out and sit-in – but Souvlaki Hut also offers the best bang for your buck! Head on over to the hut and grab two Gyro’s for $12, along with some complimentary bread!

Astoria Shish Kebob House

(1970 Dundas St E #1, Mississauga, ON L4X 2W7)

Astoria Shish Kebob House is one of the finest looking Greek restaurants in all of the GTA and it’s famous for its souvlaki!

At Astoria Shish Kebob House you can eat like a Greek King for a very reasonable fee, and make sure you come with an empty stomach! You can order takeout as well but the interior design begs to be experienced.

ZET’s Restaurant

(6445 Airport Rd, Mississauga, ON L4V 1E4)

ZET’s Restaurant is located near the airport in Mississauga and you can even sit and watch the runways if you’re so inclined.

ZET’s is a more unconventional choice because it isn’t strictly Greek food and it’s burgers are extremely popular, however it’s their souvlaki that brings me back. I suggest heading there late at night (seeing as it’s open 24 hours) and order the pork or chicken souvlaki dinners, or a gyro on a pita, and watch the planes land. It’s oddly relaxing…and filling.

Gyros Place

(1350 Matheson Blvd E, Mississauga, ON L4W 4M1)

Gyros Place describes itself as “the complete Greek restaurant” and with their impressive menu it’s easy to see why.

Gyros Place doesn’t just offer some gyros and souvlaki, it also offers authentic Greek soups, salads, sides (Tiropita, Spanakopita, Tzatziki appetisers), and desserts (Baklava). All of the food is top quality, the premises are very clean and nice, and they even offering catering for parties.

Stavro’s Greek Restaurant

(11 Pearl Street)

Stavro’s Souvlaki packs a punch of flavour and for a great price for what you get. Their Lamb Chops are to rave about and their Greek Salad is pure heaven. What makes their dishes even more delicious is the fact that you can feel good knowing that all of their food comes from Ontario grown farms.
