There’s nothing better than sitting on a sunny patio and cracking open a crisp cold one at the end of a long work day. But when so many restaurants are offering the same choices again and again, beer can start to look a little dull. Lucky for you, YourSauga has done its research and found the best places in Streetsville to find some unique, specialty and craft beer that everyone can enjoy.
Door Fifty Five
63 Queen Street S.
Looking for a cool, young atmosphere with a great patio and over forty seven beers to choose from? Door Fifty Five might be the place for you with its warm reclaimed wood and smooth, speakeasy feel. While their menu includes some favourites like Mill St. Organic and Belgian Moon, they also offer a wide array of craft beers with some serious flair. If you’re a fan of Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery, or are just looking to snap a picture of the can’s beautiful artwork, you might enjoy the house lager and my personal favourite, 55 Monkeys. Not sure what you’d like? Their friendly and knowledgeable staff will help you narrow things down!
111 Queen Street S.
Saucy promises a relaxed, bright, and welcoming dining experience alongside a bar that serves plenty of specialty beer (especially for the German beer lover)!
Not sure which beer would go best with your food? Their helpful menu suggests delicious pairings you’re bound to love. For example, Erdinger Dunkel, a Bavarian beer from Beer Hawk is described as “light & refreshing with a hint of chocolate”, and would go best with their roast chicken, pork, or sausage arrabbiata (but let’s be real – everything tastes delicious at Saucy).
Sip your perfectly paired beer on an adorable patio that allows you to relax while taking in the hustle and bustle of downtown Streetsville.
Big Slick Bar and Billiards
1965 Britannia Road
If you’re looking for a more casual setting, Big Slick Bar and Billiards is a great place to grab a drink and shoot pool with your craft beer loving buds.
Expect to find classics like Mill St. Organic along with more adventurous beers like the crisp and floral Polly Want a Pilsner from Hop City, Mad Tom IPA and Detour by Muskoka Brewery, dark and spicy La Résolution by Unibroue, and much, much more.
With specials going on almost all year long, get bang for your buck at Big Slick Bar and Billiards!
Rib Eye Jack’s
6531 Mississauga Road
Rib Eye Jack’s is the right place to go for variety. With over one hundred craft beers to choose from, there’s a new one (or two… or three) to try every visit!
I’m a big fan of pale ale, and Rib Eye Jack’s has a lot of it. Naughty Neighbor APA from Nickel Brook is a strong favourite, but there are many more to choose from, such as the English Bay Pale Ale from Granville Island, Cruiser from Amsterdam Brewery, or Mad Tom IPA from Muskoka to name a few.
The best thing about Rib Eye Jack’s? They’re now serving brunch, which means if you’ve gotten a little too carried away researching craft beers Saturday night, there’s a delicious recovery meal waiting for you Sunday morning!
127 Queen Street S.
Want a perfect date night restaurant with friendly staff and the perfect craft beer? Complete with a fireplace and plush booths, Mondello Ristorante’s dining room has a warm and elegant ambiance perfect for your next romantic outing.
I’ve heard that a lot of people love Barking Squirrel, but just can’t seem to find many places that serve it. Look no further! Mondello Ristorante serves this delicious amber lager from Hop City in Ontario. Additionally, if you’re a fan of Collective Arts Brewing you’ll be pleased to see the fruity State of Mind Session IPA, Stash Straight Up Ale, and their Stranger Than Fiction Porter on the menu.
Date not a big fan of beer? While we do have to question their taste buds, Mondello’s menu boasts over sixty other alcoholic beverages to choose from (ensuring nothing gets in the way of impressing that special someone)!
