There’s just something about Christmastime and theatre that go together like egg and nog. Of course, there’s no wrong time to head to the Meadowvale Theatre to catch a great show, but the holiday season is certainly the best time to do so, and it just so happens that there’s a play well worth coming to see this month!

The Meadowvale Theatre’s Encore Series presents My Fair Lady, from Friday November 16th until Friday November 23rd. My Fair Lady is an iconic play that was written Alan Jay Lerner in 1956, that has been adapted hundreds of times since, including for movies. The Meadowvale Theatre describes it perfectly:

This is that rare musical by which all others are measured and features one of musical theatre’s greatest scores, including: “The Rain in Spain”, “I Could Have Danced all Night” and “Get me to the Church on Time”. Eliza Doolittle is a young flower seller with an unmistakable Cockney accent which keeps her on the lower rungs of Edwardian society, but “she wants to be a lady”. Enter Professor Henry Higgins, the arrogant world-renowned master of the English Language who bets he can “make a duchess of this draggle-tailed gutter snipe!” An unlikely friendship blooms along with a little bit of luck! “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?” to join us? Presented by Clarkson Music Theatre with special arrangement by Music Theatre International. Suitable for all audiences.

The show takes place at 6315 Montevideo Road, and it is set to be the big show for the month of November. Performance times are listed below. For those interested in going, head to this link.
