If you’re a mixed martial artist in Mississauga, you’ve probably heard of Battle Arts Academy. And if you’re a wrestling fan you’ve likely heard of Santino Marella. Well, it was the former WWE Superstar who founded and runs the Battle Arts Academy right here in Mississauga!
The Battle Arts Academy is one of Mississauga’s best MMA gym’s but it doubles as a small arena for wrestling shows. Destiny World Wrestling regularly operates shows in the space known as the Don Kolov arena, and on Sunday January 21st they will showcase the biggest one yet.
Carnage, as the event is called, kicks-off at 7:30 PM and will feature such matches as RJ City Vs. Stone Rockwell, Gisele Shaw Vs. Maria Manic, a Cobra Cup Rumble with a surprise entrant, and the truly monumental main event, Pete Dunne Vs. Austin Aries.
Not only is this match for the Destiny World Championship, which Dunne is the holder of, but this also marks the first time ever that a WWE Champion will face an Impact Wrestling Champion! That might not sound like a big deal but if you’d said that sentence even five years ago I would have said you were insane. WWE has a history of not allowing their Superstar’s to wrestle outside of the company, but the WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne has changed that. Dunne has wrestled as the WWE Champion all over the world, and on the 21st he will face perhaps his toughest challenge yet in the face of Impact Wrestling World Champion, Austin Aries!
Ironically, Aries was a WWE Superstar up until October 2017, but left the company in a move that surprised many. He since returned to Impact Wrestling (formerly TNA) and won the World Championship. Dunne and Aries are two of the very best, most hard-hitting wrestlers on the planet right now and this match could main-event any show in any company.
Sunday January 21st, come be part of history as the WWE United Kingdom Champion, Pete Dunne, takes-on the Impact World Champion, Austin Aries, at the Don Kolov Arena. Tickets are still available for less than $30, so come on out and join the awesomeness!
