Like it or not, summer is over and winter is knocking on our doors, ready to rear its blustery head. Well 2020 has been a year unlike any other, and much has been made about how adversely affected the entire restaurant industry has been. So it was a truly welcome sight when Mayor Bonnie Crombie announced last month that patio season would be extended into November this year.
It’s no secret that us Mississaugians love our patio’s, we relish the summer months when we can sit out in the sunlight with fresh drinks and good food with friends. And we here at YourSauga love pointing you in the direction of the best patio’s all throughout the city, and that’s what we want to do today. The restaurant industry needs your help, and that’s why you need to hit-up these four awesome patio’s this winter and do your part!
Goodfella’s in Streetsville might just lay stake to the claim that it is the best pizza restaurant in the city. With some stiff competition, Goodfella’s sticks out with its incredible menu, great service, and welcoming, homely feel.
However it’s the patio that we’re waxing lyrical about today. The patio at Goodfella’s in Streetsville is a picturesque one with comfortable iron seating, oak tables, wooden flooring and pretty flowers surrounding you. There might not be many pretty flowers to stare at in winter, but the patio will be no less comfortable, and the pizza no less great.
There’s a reason why everytime you go to Jack Astor’s its packed to the throat. No matter which Jack’s you hit up, it’s always a good time with awesome food and more TV’s than you can shake a stick at.
There may not be any TV’s on the patio but there are lots of heating stations like the one pictured above. A great patio is one that functions the same in any season, and that’s Jack’s in a nutshell. And I can personally attest to that; last winter I visited Jack’s with a couple of friends and sat outside, and it the heaters made it so warm we took our jackets off. Throw in the incredibly comfortable seating arrangements and you have a homerun.
Snug Harbour is (arguably) Port Credit’s best, most romantic restaurant. With its truly incredible harbour-front location, Snug Habour was already one of the best places to visit in the township. Sitting on the patio, overlooking the lake on a sunny day is one of the best ways to spend time we can think of.
Sure it might not be like that in winter, but instead of the sunny lake with boats coming in and out, you have the pretty frozen lake. And while that might sound chilly to say the least, Snug Harbour’s patio is heated. Throw in the best fish dishes around and you have a restaurant worth visiting right now.
The Wilcox Gastropub is quite possibly Mississauga’s most underrated restaurant. We talk all the time about the amazing places to eat in Port Credit, Streetsville, Square One, Clarkson, and so on. And because of it’s location, north of Square One, The Wilcox often gets left off lists and such, but this is a restaurant worth going out of your way for.
The Wilcox has a mouth-watering menu with a little something for everyone, and you can order any of it while sitting in the lush outdoor patio. With its wooden framing, comfortable seats, romantic fairy lights, and plenty of greenery, The Wilcox is the perfect spot for date-night and a sneaky Insta selfie.
