What do you get when combine almost 80 years of pizza making knowledge, coming all the way from Montorio in northern Italy, with the greater Toronto area? Well, you get Pizzaiolo, of course.
Pizzaiolo is four generations of passion for pizza and a family-run business. The family brought their business to Toronto and opened their first store in 1967 – although it wasn’t known as Pizzaiolo at the time. The first actual Pizzaiolo store, as we know it now, opened in 2000. Since then the brand has expanded all across the GTA with 37 locations, three of which are in Mississauga.
Well, we can add a fourth to that list because the family has opened a brand new store at 229 Queen Street South, in Streetsville.
The new Streetsville location is the brand’s 38th store and has been officially open for a few weeks now. As for what you can find on the menu, well Pizzaioli offers award-winning gourmet pizza’s calzones, salads, and beverages.
There’s 14 different gourmet meat pizza options, including Americano (bacon, mushrooms, oregano, parmigiano cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Pizzaiolo Tomato Sauce), Capone (chicken breast, mushrooms, parmigiano cheese, pesto sauce, roasted red peppers and mozzarella cheese), Soprano (gorgonzola cheese, sopressata, sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and Pizzaiolo Tomato Sauce), and the classic Tony Pepperoni (pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and Pizzaiolo Tomato Sauce).
Unlike most other vegetarian restaurants, Pizzaioli offers just as many vegetarian options as anything else! That means you’ll find dishes like Casino (black olives, green olives, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese and Pizzaiolo Tomato Sauce), Sofia (mozzarella cheese and Pizzaiolo Tomato Sauce), and Whole Wheat Veggie (mushrooms, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and Pizzaiolo Tomato Sauce). And if you’re a vegan, they have you covered as well!
If all that didn’t sound enticing enough, all of Pizzaioli’s pies are made with non-GMO ingredients and nut-free. So if you’re in the mood for some top-quality, authentic Italian pizza, then consider heading to the brand new (and classy) Pizzaioli location in Streetsville and taste some tradition.
