It’s summertime and with that comes a plethora of weekly entertainment throughout Mississauga. Part of that entertainment is an annual tradition in Port Credit, the Rotary Club’s Movie Nights in the park.
Each year, from July to August, the Rotary Club brings a big outdoor screen with a projector, and showcases a series of movies every Friday night, free to everyone! The movies are always family-friendly, however they’re enjoyable no matter what your age. So come one come all to Port Credit Memorial Park on Friday, July 6th for the return of a summer tradition!
The first movie of the 2018 season of free movies, is 2017’s The Lego Ninjago Movie. If you’ve seen other Lego movies (Lego Batman, The Lego Movie, etc.), you’ll know exactly what to expect here, as the series’ trademark humour and animation is in full force. Check out the trailer right here, and read the synopsis below to see what it’s all about.
The battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, also secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat the evil warlord Garmadon, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting father against son, the epic showdown tests these fierce but undisciplined modern-day ninjas as they learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash the inner power of Spinjitzu.
Like all the previous and subsequent Lego movies, Ninjago boasts a star-studded cast that includes Dave Franco, Olivia Munn, Michael Pena, Justin Theroux, and Jackie Chan. The Lego Ninjago Movie is a feast for the eyes, both for kids and adults, and the humour has plenty of wink-wink jokes for us older folk.
The movie will screen around 9 PM, so come early, bring a blanket and some snacks, or grab popcorn from the vendor in the park. As always, the movie is free, so come out on Friday July 6th, bring your friend, significant other, the whole family, or come alone, and enjoy the show. Remember to come back next week to find out what the next movie is!
