As Rachael Ray, the celebrity chef whose culinary adventures are watched by millions on her weekly television show says, “Food is love.”  So, warm up with “love” at a new resto opening its doors in one of Mississauga’s neighbourhoods—presently, or very soon (certainly way before this frigid, bitter winter is finally gone!).

This restaurant is slated to open in February.  With their reputation already established in 3 locations throughout the GTA (two in downtown Toronto, and one in Vaughn), SU&BU is moving into Mississauga’s Square One.  Their specialty is “an innovative approach to the seaweed wraps.”  The resto promises to bring “a new era of rolled up adventures” and “a new and exciting way for sushi lovers who want more than just a meal out of their traditional maki rolls.”

Boil Plus

Location:  Heartland Town Centre — 815 Britannia Road West

Associated with the popular Sushi 168 brand, this new resto offers a plethora of seafood types done in a variety, creative ways— some in traditional boil bags.  Alongside seafood, the resto also offers sandwiches, Japanese ramen noodle and a wide range of side dishes.

Masrawy Kitchen

Location:  Meadowvale, Argentia Rd. and Derry Rd.

If you had a party catered by Masrawy Fine Egyptian Catering, you’ll know the type of food that will be offered by Masrawy Kitchen, the catering company’s first sit-down venue:  Egyptian soul food, like lentil masri soup, oxtail stew, baba ghanoush, hummus, Daoud Basha Kofta, Fatta Masrawy, Kofta and Chicken Tawook skewers.  The catering company announced its restaurant back in the fall, and should be opening very soon this winter.

This brand new restaurant just opened, and will warm your body and soul with some good old comfort food.  Think burgers, hand cut fries, sandwiches and wraps. Kantene’s signature creations include panko breaded crispy eggplant fries, and the surf and turf burger.  The owners promise burgers made with fresh AAA Canadian beef and no additives or preservatives “just high quality beef, handcrafted and seasoned to perfection with our own spice mix.
